In The News

I have been reviewing movies for over ten years.  As a former reviewer for AOL Black Voices and N’DIGO Magapaper of Chicago, I have been able bring a different point of view to film commentary.

Currently, I am the film critic for Film Life www.filmlife.com  , the parent company of the American Black Film Festival (ABFF). I also have two radio programs airing on WUBU-FM (106.3), South Bend , IN:  The 511, a weekly one minute movie review segment and Reggie’s Movie Update, a movie industry update on what’s new, In and out.  The 511 is now airing In Chicago on WGCI, WVAZ and WSRB.  Additionally, I appear regularly on www.vocalo.org - 89.5 fm in Chicago.

I strongly believe that the movies are more than a reflection of society, they are important socially, politically and personally.  With this as my foundation, I will not just talk about the movies but also their impact on society whenever there’s an opportunity.  This may include talking about the portrayal of women, Hispanics or even about the film’s political commentary ... And naturally, as an African-American Critic, I will discuss the portrayal of African-Americans in cinema.

I am native Chicagoan who grew up on the south-side of the city.  My love for the movies grew as a young child going to the “show” at the historic theaters in downtown Chicago.

I went on to study sociology at Princeton University, marketing at the University of Chicago and movies at Columbia Collage in Chicago.
